The Prep III class enjoyed a morning of cycle training on the roof garden led by Tom and Irina from Camden Council’s Bike Ability Scheme. Away from the dangers of busy roads and fast traffic, the children learnt about the importance of cycle maintenance and how to conduct regular checks. They then learnt how to mount and dismount their bikes safely before practising the essential skills of signalling and stopping through gradual braking. Applying impressive perseverance, some of the children who had arrived with stabilisers attached to their bikes were justifiably thrilled with being able to have them removed during the session and ride unassisted!
