The sunshine joined us in its full glory, along with over 500 visitors for our annual Summer Fête. Guests enjoyed a leisurely few hours browsing an array of stalls, playing games such as the ever popular Penalty Shoot-Out with Coach Marc, enjoying a special Yoga session and having Story Time on the roof garden as well as a fantastic performance from the Glee Club. The Guess the Number of Sweets in the Jar game was particularly popular, with Leo and Safa from Prep III Epsilon winning big with their guesses of 185 and 160 sweets respectively! The Tombola was also very popular; lucky tickets married their owners with prizes ranging from board games and books to bottles of fine bubbly and even a relaxing spa retreat. Many children chose to transform into pirates, tigers and favourite superheroes at the Face Painting stall while others tried their hand at the Hoopla or created sweet treats over at the Cake Decorating and Crafts stalls. Much feasting was done from the mouth-watering selection of cuisine available over at the Summer Snacks stands. There were delicious homemade cakes, fresh fruit and a wide array of savoury delights to accompany the delightfully refreshing Pimms and soft drinks on offer. The event’s success could not have been achieved without our marvellous team of staff and parent volunteers who worked incredibly hard with the organisation and operation leading up to and throughout the afternoon. Everyone’s efforts helped to raise an impressive £1591.17 for Brent Centre for Young People.
