This year the children have been working very hard to help the environment. The Pupil Parliament have been working on an action plan. We decided to focus on three eco topics: marine, sustainability and waste. Our aim for the topic on marine is to take part in a river clean up. This is so we can monitor plastic waste and protect our animals that potentially live in the river. As a healthy eating school, we wanted to also action ways we can continue to learn and stay healthy. Therefore, we have decided to grow our own fruit and vegetables. Finally, our other topic, waste, is to ensure we are monitoring paper waste. The children have helped to organise ‘Environmental Awareness Week’ and thought of ideas that included using recyclable materials.
